Movement 08 – Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival: Public Relations, Sponsor Management, and Brand Articulation
CHALLENGE:
Generate press in local, regional, national, and international markets to drive online ticket sales, provide current sponsors with added value while enticing future festival sponsors, and to further elevate and distinguish the DEMF, North America’s largest electronic music festival.
STRATEGY:
Develop and implement a new and revitalized PR, marketing and branding campaign.
RESULTS:
Not only did the festival experience increased ticket sales, but media coverage in diverse and sophisticated media including: The New York Times’ Travel section, Crain’s Detroit Business, The Oakland Business Review, NPR France – positioned the festival from a local, unstable wait-and-see event to an international music and tourist destination.
Key sponsor Red Bull was so impressed with Publicity Works’ proof of performance that we were retained to publicize the critically-acclaimed Red Bull Big Tune, a national event/tour, and assist Red Bull in elevating the event’s profile among the media and in the music community, while heightening the event’s artistic value.
